Roger Federer's preparations for playing for fans with Wimbledon centre court tickets have been hit after he suffered a defeat at the Sony Ericsson Open.
The world number one was sent crashing out of the Miami tournament by Tomas Berdych in three sets, despite having a match point over the Czech player in the deciding tie-break.
He failed to convert the chance and eventually slumped to a 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 defeat in the fourth round of the event.
Following his loss, Federer revealed he had been unhappy with his performance throughout the match and expressed concern that he has been struggling with his game prior to appearing in front of fans with Wimbledon centre court tickets.
"I fought as much as I could under the circumstances with my game having issues at the moment," the Swiss player said. "[I am] definitely lack timing."
Federer's exit from the tournament follows just days after Andy Murray's defeat in the second round at the hands of Mardy Fish.
