Rugby hospitality news: Nick Easter 'will fight for England jersey'

Nick Easter has said he is prepared to fight for the chance to pull on an England jersey and play in front of fans with rugby hospitality tickets at the 6 Nations.

The Harlequins number eight missed the tough autumn international series through injury, with England faring poorly in his absence.

Martin Johnson's side scraped through against a powerful but unadventurous Argentina side and were defeated by New Zealand and Australia.

Easter has been in good form since returning from the knock, but has expressed his concern that Quins' lack of form could count against him in the England reckoning.

Despite this, Easter is still desperate to be picked. He told the Wimbledon Guardian: "Everyone is desperate to pull on that England shirt and I’m no different, but you have to be playing well to get the nod.

"There is work to do and it is going to be competitive."

Fans with rugby hospitality tickets for the 6 Nations may recall that Easter became the first back row forward to score four tries in a match for England in the demolition of Wales prior to the 2007 World Cup.
