Kevin Pietersen has been urged to get back to basics if he is to enjoy success in the England v Pakistan Test series.
The flamboyant middle-order batsman averages just under 50 at Test level but has been going through something of a lean patch of late, amassing just 69 runs in seven innings on the current tour of Bangladesh.
If he is to battle back from his current poor form to become an important part of the England v Pakistan series, former Three Lions captain Michael Vaughan urged the batsman to concentrate on getting the basics of his game right.
Speaking to Press Association Sport, Vaughan added that Pietersen should attempt to spend as much time in the middle as possible against Bangladesh.
"He has to work out a method of making sure he can stay at the crease, first and foremost," he said. "No batsman can get runs without being able to stay at the crease for long periods of time."
