Mark Ramprakash has said he is keen to spend plenty of time at the crease prior to appearing for Surrey Lions in front of fans with Brit Oval Twenty20 tickets.
The 40-year-old has endured an interrupted pre-season due to his commitment with the recent Strictly Come Dancing tour and has only been able to fit in "two or three" indoor net sessions against a bowling machine since its conclusion.
But the former England star has now put his dancing shoes away for the summer and helped himself to a century against the Emerging Cape Cobras on the Lions' tour to Abu Dhabi.
It is the second successive three-figure score that the batsman has amassed at the Sheik Zayed Stadium, having struck an unbeaten 127 against the United Arab Emirates 12 months ago.
"I know I'm short of practice against quick bowling and the seamers and a long way short of where I'd like to be," Ramprakash told Surrey TV after the match.
Cricket enthusiasts may be able to catch the batsman at the peak of his form if they purchase Brit Oval Twenty20 tickets for the Surrey Lions clash against Gloucestershire Gladiators on June 8th 2010.
