Golf prodigy Rickie Fowler has revealed his aim to secure a place to play in front of fans with Ryder Cup corporate tickets this year.
Speaking to Press Association Sport, Fowler claimed that he did not have the contest in mind when he first moved into professional golf.
However, after getting some great finishes this season the prospect is firmly on his mind.
He said: "Now it's one of my main goals, but for the moment I'm just enjoying playing against the best players in the world."
Fowler, well known for his garish clothes and memorable hairstyle, plays his first World Golf Championships event in Akron next week.
If he manages to perform well in upcoming events, Fowler could become the first player since Tiger Woods to advance straight from the Walker Cup to Ryder Cup.
Fowler's statement comes as Team Europe announced their vice captains for the contest would be Thomas Bjorn, Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley.
Many fans are preparing for the exciting event by pre-ordering their Ryder Cup corporate tickets online.
