Welsh scrum-half Mike Phillips has said Wales are aiming for a repeat of their World Cup performance in Wellington when they play Ireland in Dublin on Sunday (February 5th) in the opening round of Six Nations games.

The Welsh won the quarter-final tie in the New Zealand capital and Phillips said: "A similar performance to the World Cup is needed.

"We made few errors and scored three tries in Wellington. It was a complete performance that day and hopefully we can replicate that."

Phillips was at the heart of the Welsh victory over Ireland in last year's competition when he scored the winning try and fans planning to enjoy Six Nations hospitality packages in upcoming games at the Millenium Stadium may be hoping he can repeat the trick.

The Welsh will have to cope without the injured hooker Matthew Rees, after the Scarlett's player was ruled out for two weeks with a calf injury.

Ireland's side, meanwhile, contains three changes from the team that lost in Wellington.
