Alastair Cook is confident he will get the chance to play in front of fans with Test match ticketsEngland v Pakistan
The opening batsman has been carrying a back injury for some time now but insists that when the first Test gets underway at Trent Bridge on July 29th 2010, he will be ready for action.
He revealed the niggle has not flared up for the "last couple of weeks" and expressed his desire to continue playing.
However, the Essex star went on to observe that his role in the side for matches watched by fans with Test match tickets
"All I know is that batting and fielding at slip are the worst things you can do, that's why a lot of batsmen and bowlers have bad backs," he commented.
Cook, who was born in Gloucester, currently averages 44.17 with the bat in Test cricket and will hope to maintain this impressive record against Pakistan.
