Andy Murray has praised the impact new coach Ivan Lendl has had on his game already.

The Czech superstar of the 1980s has been with the Scot for less than two months, but Murray told the BBC he felt a change in just five days of work ahead of the Australian Open.

"I feel like I improved just in those days," the three-time grand slam finalist said.

Murray also revealed he is taking inspiration from Novak Djokovic, who edged him out in a tight five set match in the Melbourne semi-finals before retaining his crown in the final.

"The turnaround was incredible and he was struggling at the end of the year before," observed Murray, who has known Djokovic since they were both juniors.

Those enjoying hospitality packages at Wimbledon this summer may be keen to see if Andy Murray can emulate Djokovic in taking the step up required to leave the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal behind.

Earlier this week, Djokovic was crowned Laureus World Sportsman of the Year for his achievements in winning three of the four grand slams in 2011.
