Andy Murray managed to limp through his second round tie in the Brisbane International tournament as he again had to come from a set down to win.

Having lost the first set in his opening match against Mikhail Kukushkin from Kazakhstan, Murray lost the opening set of his second round tie 6-4 to Gilles Muller.

The second set went to a tie-break, but the Scot won it to stay in the contest and his superior class finally told when he cruised though the decider 6-0.

Murray also insisted his fitness was improving and he will be ready for the Australian Open later this month, despite playing with a strapped-up knee.

Fans enjoying hospitality packages at the Aegon Championships before Wimbledon in June will hope the Scot has a smoother run as he prepares for Britain's premier tennis event.

One player who has been struck down with injury in Brisbane is Serena Williams, who has had to pull out after injuring her ankle in her second round match.
