Bradley Davies hit by seven-week ban
08/02/2012
Wales second row Bradley Davies has been suspended for the rest of the Six Nations tournament for his tip tackle on Ireland's Donnacha Ryan during last Sunday's match in Dublin.
Davies only received a ten-minute spell in the sin bin for his dangerous tackle instead of a red card, but the independent Six Nations Disciplinary Committee has found him guilty of an incident of foul play and banned the lock from playing professional rugby until March 26th - after the tournament ends.
It means fans enjoying hospitality packages when England play Wales at Twickenham on February 25th may be more likely to see England win after the weakening of the Welsh side.
However, the Welsh Rugby Football Union has said the injured pair of Dan Lydiate and Gethin Jenkins are set to return to training this week, which could ensure they are available for the clash against Scotland at the Millennium Stadium this Sunday (February 12th).
