Centre court tickets news: Henman backs Murray for Wimbledon glory

20/05/2010

Tim Henman has backed Andy Murray to win his first Grand Slam in front of fans with centre court tickets at this year's Wimbledon Championships.

The 22-year-old Scot was knocked out in the last four at SW19 in 2009 by Andy Roddick, who went on to lose out to Roger Federer in a thrilling final.

Murray enjoyed a bright start to 2010, finishing as runner-up to Federer in the Australian Open, but his form has been rather patchy ever since.

Last month's defeat to Philipp Kohlschreiber in Monte Carlo meant he had lost three successive matches for the first time in almost four years.

Despite this, former British number one Henman believes the youngster has become a better player over the past year and said fans with centre court tickets could see him storm to victory.

"I really think Wimbledon could be Murray's," he commented. "He's improved, his game is better, he's got 12 months more experience and I think he's got every chance of winning."
