Cheltenham Festival legend Kauto Star returns

Punters who regularly enjoy corporate packages at the Cheltenham Festival may be keeping a close eye on two-time Gold Cup winner Kauto Star this weekend.
The legendary horse owned by Clive Smith will feature in the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal on Saturday (November 6th), which will no doubt draw interest from many festival-goers.
This will be Kauto's first appearance since he failed to land his third Gold Cup when beaten by Imperial Commander in a thrilling showpiece race in March.
Mr Smith is hopeful that his iconic ten-year-old, who won the Gold Cup in 2007 and 2009, can perform well after his Cheltenham disappointment.
"He's much better in himself and he's survived Cheltenham very well. He's been out in the paddock and the fields during the summer, and everything is very good," he said.
Kauto may also renew his famous rivalry with stable-mate Denman at Newbury's Hennessy Gold Cup on November 27th.
The pair have had some epic battles over the past few years, particularly in the Gold Cup where Denman beat his rival in 2008, before Kauto exacted revenge a year later.
