Cricket chiefs to discuss day/night Tests at Lord's meeting

10/05/2011

Changes to the game of cricket which could potentially benefit Lord's hospitality guests will be discussed this week by some of the sport's most influential people.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket Committee will meet at the famous London ground today (May 10th 2011) and tomorrow to go over a number of issues that could alter the way people watch the game.

One major item up for review is the prospect of staging day/night Test matches and an in-depth debate into the matter is expected.

Research conducted by cricket boards from across the globe will be analysed by the ICC representatives and a decision could be made on whether it is worth holding a trial Test match that runs into the evening.

Night games have proven successful in the one-day format of the sport, but traditionalists may not favour the notion of night time Tests.

Lord's is set to stage high profile one-day and Test matches this summer, as both Sri Lanka and India tour the country in a series of encounters against England.
