Wimbledon corporate hospitality news: Carpenter 'in great form'
30/12/2009
Wimbledon corporate hospitality experience customers who enjoy watching the junior competition at SW19 may have been following Jack Carpenter's recent progress with interest.
The 17-year-old told the Kingston Guardian he was happy with his performances in the US at the Eddie Herr International Junior Tournament (EHIJT) and Orange Bowl.
He said he plans to spend 2010 working on his ATP ranking, beginning at the Australian Open.
Discussing his showing at the EHIJT, where he lost in the semi-finals, he remarked: "It's not the one that everyone looks at as the biggest tournament, as there is obviously Junior Wimbledon, but this was the biggest one for me this year."
Wimbledon corporate hospitality customers could be hoping that Carpenter follows in the footsteps of Laura Robson by succeeding in the All England Club's junior tournament.
Robson took the girls' title in 2008 and appeared in the ladies singles tournament in SW19 earlier this year, losing out in the first round to Daniela Hantuchova.
