Wimbledon corporate hospitality news: Serena Williams 'mixes grit and glamour'
11/12/2009
Sports fans may be inspired to book a corporate hospitality package to Wimbledon 2010 to catch a glimpse of a star that has "redefined women in sports".
Serena Williams, who won the ladies singles title at the All England Club earlier this year, would be a worthy winner of the Associated Press' Athlete of the Decade gong, according to Arlen Kantarian.
The former US Tennis Association chief executive officer for professional tennis told the news provider: "[Williams] has that very, very unique combination of grit and glamour, power and grace, like no other athlete I've come across in the last decade - or two, for that matter."
Fellow player Kim Clijsters has also backed Serena for the award, stating she is a very compelling player to watch on court and an "amazing athlete".
Justine Henin added she has a strong personality and is really charismatic.
Often competing against her sister Venus in grand slam finals, Serena has won the SW19 tournament three times in 2009, 2003, 2002 - and been runner up twice.
