Wimbledon corporate hospitality news: Sharapova gunning for SW19 glory
23/12/2009
Maria Sharapova could be one of the players to watch during a corporate hospitality experience at Wimbledon next year, if the Russian's recent comments are anything to go by.
The Nation quotes the 22-year-old as revealing she plans try and win many more women's singles titles at the All England Club (AEC) event.
Sharapova won the competition in 2004, overcoming Serena Williams in straight sets in one of the shortest finals of the past 20 years.
Discussing her chances of repeating the feat, she told the news provider: "I just want to stay healthy and be happy. And if I can win a few more Wimbledons, that will be great too."
Another player gunning for glory in SW19 in 2010 is Justine Henin.
The Belgian former world number one is set to come out of retirement to compete at the AEC.
She has previously lost in finals against Venus Williams in 2001 and Amelie Mauresmo in 2006.
