Edoardo Molinari makes 'great push' towards Ryder Cup team
12/07/2010
A new Ryder Cup dream team could be in the making if Colin Montgomerie selects both Edoardo Molinari and brother Francesco.
This is the opinion of the new Barclays Scottish Open champion, at any rate, who is now in sixth position in the world rankings and just 11 points behind Ian Poulter, currently holding the fourth qualifying spot in Montgomerie's squad, ASAP Sports reports.
Francesco, meanwhile, is fifth overall in the European table and making use of Ryder Cup hospitality tickets
"I think Francesco and I have already shown how well we can play together because our games complement each other," Molinari remarked, adding that they are both good drivers, while he is a decent putter and his brother is great with an iron.
However, the Italian also recently admitted that securing a place on the team would be "very difficult" for him this year.
