England claim ODI series with nervy victory

England's series victory over Australia could inspire people to purchase ODI tickets

Andrew Strauss's side have now reached an unassailable 3-0 lead over the bitter rivals with two matches remaining, following yesterday's (June 27th 2010) triumph at Old Trafford.

However, England were made to work far harder for their win in front of fans with ODI tickets

Although Craig Kieswetter departed for a second-ball duck, captain Strauss was able to steady the ship and guided his team to the brink of victory.

But his dismissal in the 43rd over led to a collapse, with Luke Wright, Michael Yardy, Graeme Swann and Stuart Broad all joining him back at the pavilion in quick succession.

With just one wicket remaining, Tim Bresnan was able to keep James Anderson off strike and hit the winning run in the final over with five balls remaining.
