The England cricket team could be set to stock up the trophy cabinet tonight (December 22nd) when the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards take place.

Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook are in the running for the individual award, while the side may be hot favourites for the Team of the Year gong after winning the Ashes and becoming the best Test team in the world.

In addition to this, Andy Flower could be a strong candidate for Coach of the Year.

The event will be taking place at the BBC studios in Salford Quays, just a short walk from Old Trafford cricket ground, which in addition to being an international venue currently undergoing a major redevelopment is also home to reigning county champions Lancashire, who sealed their first outright title since 1934 on the final day of the season.

Fans hoping to enjoy hospitality packages at the ground next summer can do so at the England v South Africa T20 game on September 10th.

Meanwhile, the England cricket team's success has seen brewer Marston's extend its deal as the official beer of the England team for another four years.
