England cricketers honoured at awards ceremony
08/12/2011
England's cricketers picked up another award at the Sports Journalists Association British Sports Awards ceremony last night (December 7th).
The team itself breezed to victory in the Team of the Year category, after winning the Ashes in Australia and then whitewashing India 4-0 to go top of the Test team rankings.
And it was not just the team who were honoured, as head coach Andy Flower picked up the Sir Michael Parkinson's President's Award, while Alastair Cook was fourth in the voting for Sportsman of the Year.
Those keen to see England's all-conquering team playing next summer can see them in Test match action at Lord's against both the West Indies and South Africa.
Flower and Cook have enjoyed a particularly good few weeks, with the Zimbabwean picking up the 2011 UK Coaching Awards Coach of the Year prize last month and the opening batsman receiving his MBE from the Queen this week.
