England 'need consistency in autumn internationals'

14/09/2010

Paul Doran-Jones is calling for England to show some consistency during this year's autumn internationals.

Martin Johnson's men will take on New Zealand, Samoa, Australia and South Africa in the series, which the Gloucester prop has admitted will be challenging.

"They will be four tough games - no doubt about that," he told RFU.com.

Referring to England's victory over Australia in the second Test during this summer's southern hemisphere tour, Doran-Jones stated that the side have shown they can compete against the best teams in the world.

However, he said it is important that they keep their performances at the same high standard throughout each of the autumn internationals.

"We just need to make sure that we improve our consistency and don't look too far ahead," he asserted.

The 25-year-old made his England debut in last year's autumn internationals clash with Argentina, coming on as a substitute for Tim Payne.

He has yet to add to his one cap for his one country, although he is part of the Elite Player Squad.
