Europe's top golfers 'fancy their chances against Tiger Woods'

Rory McIlroy has said Europe's top golfers are relishing the chance to have a crack at Tiger Woods in front of fans with Ryder Cup packages.
World number one Woods is widely expected to be among US captain Corey Pavin's wild card selections for the contest, which takes place at the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales between October 1st and 3rd 2010.
Despite Woods' undoubted ability when he is at his best, McIlroy said the European team will be confident they can overcome him in front of Ryder Cup packages customers, given his current form.
"Unless his game rapidly improves in the next month or so, I think anyone in the European team would fancy his chances against him," the Ulsterman remarked.
However, he still expects Pavin to name Woods in his squad, stating it would not "go down too well" if he was omitted.
In contrast to Woods's struggles, McIlroy himself is almost guaranteed an automatic place in the competition. He is currently third in the European Ryder Cup standings.
