Fabio Capello 'unsure of first choice South Africa World Cup keeper'
19/05/2010
It is still unknown who will secure the position of goalie at the South Africa World Cup.
The Telegraph's Jason Burt reported from Austria that Joe Hart, Robert Green and David James are all in the running and that Fabio Capello has yet to decide between them.
Mr Burt added that Capello's current indecision is "interesting", as he stated last year that he knew which players would be on the pitch during the South Africa World Cup.
James has suffered injuries since then but, according to Mr Burt, is still the favourite thanks to his experience.
David Beckham is also set to be involved in the South Africa World Cup as a coach and mentor for the younger players.
Several people have given their public support to James for the position, including former England goalie David Seaman.
He told Goal.com that James is not too old at 39, pointing out that he himself was the same age when he managed to pull of his best-ever save.
