6 Nations tickets news: Lee Byrne appeals Twickenham ban
01/02/2010
Those with 6 Nations tickets will have to wait until tomorrow (February 2nd) to find out if Wales full-back Lee Byrne will be successful in his appeal against a two-week ban.
If successful, Byrne will be able to play in Saturday's England v Wales fixture at Twickenham, which will kick off both teams' 6 Nations campaign, but he could have the ban extended to cover the Scotland match if the appeal is rejected.
Wales coach Warren Gatland was due to unveil the line-up for the Twickenham clash on Sunday, but has delayed the announcement until it is made clear whether Byrne will be available.
He told the BBC: "We are sure he will get a fair and proper hearing and obviously we will go along with whatever adjudication they come out with. I think a lot of people are hopeful Lee will play a part in the game."
Ospreys star James Hook will replace the full-back if the appeal is not successful, despite having sustained a shoulder injury which needs surgical attention.
