Cheltenham Festival hospitality packages news: Kieren Fallon gets Champion Bumper ride

26/02/2010

Kieren Fallon will make only his second ever appearance next month in front of horseracing fans with Cheltenham Festival hospitality packages.

Irish trainer Noel Glynn has snapped up the jockey to ride Old McDonald in the Champion Bumper event on March 17th 2010.

In his only other appearance in front of fans with Cheltenham Festival hospitality packages, Fallon finished fourth in 2005 riding Jonjo O'Neill's Refinement and Glynn expressed his satisfaction at bringing the jockey back to the Cotswolds event.

"We are from the same parish in County Clare and Kieren was a neighbour of mine, so I decided to get him booked and I couldn't have got much better," the trainer said.

Fallon was banned from the sport for 18 months in January 2008 after testing positive for cocaine in a drug test.

It was the second time that the jockey had been slapped with a worldwide suspension, after he was booted out of the sport for six months in December 2006 for another positive drug test.
