England v Bangladesh news: Competition is good, says Craig Kieswetter

23/02/2010

Craig Kieswetter has said that his competition with Matt Prior to play in front of fans with England v Bangladesh tickets this summer will be good for the national side.

England's home Test match series against Bangladesh gets underway on May 27th 2010 at Lord's and some pundits have said that Kieswetter's impressive form may be enough to force his way into the side ahead of current wicketkeeper Prior.

The South African-born Somerset star only qualified to play for England on residence grounds earlier this month, but a string of good knocks on the Lions tour to Dubai - including 81 against the senior ODI side - has led to his inclusion on the current trip to Bangladesh.

Kieswetter said that the battle to start behind the stumps in the England v Bangladesh series will ultimately be of benefit to the side.

"Competition can be seen as a positive thing for English cricket," he said. "Maybe it's a good thing for younger players to be coming through and putting pressure on the guys."
