England v Barbarians news: Dallaglio calls for better back line support
25/02/2010
Attacking flair and improved support play may be the key to success for Martin Johnson's side in the forthcoming England v Barbarians clash.
Writing for the Greene King IPA Rugby Blog, former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio said that while the side had done well to win their opening 6 Nations clashes against Wales and Italy, improvements will need to be made if they are to succeed in tougher games.
The ex-Wasps back-row forward said that the biggest area for advances to be made is in England's attacking direction.
While Dallaglio expressed satisfaction with the backs chosen by Johnson, he called on them to work better as a team when on the front foot.
He commented: "Too often against Italy, Monye, Flutey or Tait would break through the gain line and the attacking impetus would fizzle out due to the lack of support."
England are likely to need to correct this issue if they are to succeed in the England v Barbarians clash, which takes place at Twickenham on May 30th 2010.
