Rugby hospitality news: England will improve, pledges Martin Johnson

18/02/2010

Twickenham rugby hospitality ticketholders will see an improved performance from England by the time the clash with the Barbarians comes around.

Martin Johnson's side will face the Baa-Baas at Twickenham on May 30th 2010 and the England boss called on his squad to up their game by then, compared to the disappointing display in last weekend's narrow victory over Italy.

Speaking to RFU.com, Johnson identified numerous areas which his side need to improve, including communication and chasing down kicks out of hand.

He went on to add that England's catching needs to step up a notch in the future, as does support for the catcher, pointing out that they are often unable to see the whole game.

But all of these changes are achievable, Johnson remarked, saying: "There are subtle things to improve on and we know we can be better."

England's next chance to prove themselves will come in the England v Ireland clash at Twickenham on February 27th.
