Twenty20 tickets news: Andy Flower backs Kieswetter to shine
16/02/2010
Craig Kieswetter could be in line to play in front of cricket fans with Twenty20 tickets later this year.
The Somerset wicketkeeper-batsman has impressed with some aggressive performances this year. Despite being born in South Africa like current Test squad members Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott and Andrew Strauss, the 22-year-old becomes eligible to play for England today (February 16th 2010).
National team coach Andy Flower has admitted that Kieswetter could force his way into the England set up, which may mean that he appears in front of fans with Twenty20 tickets for the clash against Pakistan in Cardiff on September 5th.
Although he confessed to not seeing much of the Somerset star in action, Flower - who is from Zimbabwe - said he sounds like an "exciting player".
He added: "Because we don't play that much Twenty20 cricket I wouldn't say our side is that settled so there are one of two places up for grabs."
