Twickenham VIP tickets news: 'Patient' England overcome Wales
08/02/2010
Rugby enthusiasts could be inspired to book Twickenham VIP tickets for the forthcoming England v Barbarians clash after witnessing the team's display against Wales.
Martin Johnson's side overcame a fightback by the Welsh to come out on top with a 30-17 victory.
England had much the better of the first half and had raced into a 20-3 lead at the start of the second 40-minute period, following Wales lock Alun-Wyn Jones's sin binning for a cynical trip on Dylan Hartley after 35 minutes.
But Wales came back strongly thanks to two converted tries, one of them a solo effort from centre James Hook featuring an impressive fend on Danny Care.
Fans with Twickenham VIP tickets for the match were anticipating a tight finish, but Stephen Jones threw an intercepted pass to Delon Armitage, with James Haskell scoring his second try of the match from the resulting move after good work from Mathew Tait.
England manager Martin Johnson praised the way in which his players had kept a cool head despite the mounting Welsh pressure.
"It was a real battle out there and I think we showed a great deal of patience," he told the RFU website.
