Wimbledon hospitality news: More fitness woes for Dinara Safina

Fans of Dinara Safina who have managed to secure Wimbledon hospitality tickets will be hoping the Russian can recover fully from her current injury woes by the start of the SW19 tournament.

Safina was forced to retire from the Australian Open during her fourth round clash with Maria Kirilenko due to her ongoing back injury and has now pulled out of the Dubai Tennis Championships, which gets underway next week.

"I will not be able to play the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships this year because of the back injury that's been bothering me since the end of last season," she wrote on her official website.

The current world number two went on to express her disappointment at missing the event, which she said is one of her favourite tournaments on the calendar.

And she will be eager to be in good health ahead of Wimbledon as she looks to make up for her exit from last year's competition, which saw her capitulate 6-1, 6-0 in the semi-final to Venus Williams.
