Wimbledon tickets news: Andy Murray reveals Grand Slam desire

22/02/2010

Andy Murray has said he plans to go all-out to win a Grand Slam tournament in front of fans with Wimbledon tickets.

The world number four has not played since losing out in the final of the Australian Open to Roger Federer in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6, at the end of January 2010.

But Murray moved to quash fears that the defeat may have dampened his hunger to become the first British male tennis player to win a major singles competition since Fred Perry in 1936.

He said that he will continue his quest for Grand Slam success at the French Open, but if he is not successful at Roland Garros then he will try again in front of tennis enthusiasts with Wimbledon tickets.

"I'll just keep on trying and give my best," Murray said. "If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't, but it's important that I don't give up."

His comments came ahead of the Dubai Tennis Championships, for which Murray has been installed as many people's pre-tournament favourite following Federer's withdrawal.
