Wimbledon VIP packages news: Andy Murray crashes out in Dubai

25/02/2010

Andy Murray has promised fans with Wimbledon VIP packages that he will be a different player at the SW19 tournament than the one who has been knocked out of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The world number four crashed out in the second round of the event to Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic, losing 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 in front of fans with centre court tickets.

While some critics may be worried by the implications of his shock defeat, Murray was philosophical, saying: "It's not the end of the world."

And the Scottish star reassured his fans that he lost the match because of a departure from his regular game plan ahead of more important events.

"I need to make sure I'm playing my best tennis at Indian Wells and Miami, where I need to be in top shape," he said. "I was trying different things."

Murray was many people's favourite to win the Dubai tournament, after top seed Roger Federer pulled out prior to the start with a lung infection.
