Wimbledon VIP tickets news: Andy Murray 'should be suspended from ATP'

15/02/2010

Andy Murray may not have the opportunity to play in front of tennis fans with Wimbledon VIP tickets, if a French official gets his way.

Jean-Francois Caujolle has called on the ATP to suspend the 22-year-old after he pulled out of the Open13 tournament in Marseilles, despite being named as top seed for the event.

The world number four has instead decided to spend the week resting and recuperating following his exertions in the Australian Open earlier this month, in which he made it all the way to the final before losing out to Swiss star Roger Federer.

It has led Mr Caujolle to call Murray's professionalism into question and demand action from the body which organises the global tennis tour.

"The number one seed of a tournament should have a sense of responsibility," he said. "If he does not respect his commitments, he should be suspended by the ATP."

Open13 runs between February 15th and 21st 2010 and will feature the likes of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Robin Soderling.
