Wimbledon VIP tickets news: Wozniacki loses to unseeded Peer in Dubai

17/02/2010

Tennis fans with Wimbledon VIP tickets may see a determined performance from Caroline Wozniacki after she was eliminated from the third round of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The Danish world number three was knocked out in straight sets by her unseeded Israeli opponent Shahar Peer today (February 17th 2010).

A series of unforced errors and broken services helped Peer to come out on top in the match, which she eventually won 6-2, 7-5.

Wozniacki's serve was so poor throughout the clash that she faced break points in every one of her service games, but despite her own poor match the 19-year-old was full of praise for her opponent.

"She played well today, she really did," Wozniacki said. "She was changing the rhythm and going in and attacking the balls. I had my chances - especially in the second set - and I didn't take them."

The men's half of the Dubai tournament gets underway on February 22nd and is set to feature the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
