World Cup 2010 news: England are a great team, says del Bosque
02/02/2010
Vincente del Bosque has picked England out as one of the favourites to win World Cup 2010.
The Spain coach's side will start as one of the most hotly-tipped countries to lift the trophy in South Africa, having won the European Championships in 2008 under previous boss Luis Aragones.
When asked by Spanish newspaper Marco about the teams which are most likely to pose a threat to his side at the forthcoming competition, del Bosque refused to rule out any countries.
But he reserved particular praise for England and Brazil, IMScouting reported.
He said that England coach Fabio Capello has a "great team" at his disposal which is complemented by the squad's physical strength, technical ability and competitive edge.
And he was particularly keen to highlight the strength of Capello's midfield, describing Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard as "outstanding players".
"They have another style, but have great quality," del Bosque added.
