Graeme McDowell planning to recharge the batteries before Ryder Cup

20/07/2010

Graeme McDowell will be postponing the rest of his celebrations after winning at Palm Beach in Florida in order to ensure people with Ryder Cup corporate tickets

The golfer has his sights on becoming the European number one by taking his second major, but believes that Louis Oosthuizen's Scottish Open win has taken the spotlight off him somewhat.

"That is good because I need to reset, rest up and get ready for a big three weeks and a big end of the season," he explained.

With the Irish Open, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the US PGA Championship to look forward to, McDowell added that he will be resting himself during the next week in order to "recharge the batteries".

Bradley Dredge recently admitted that he is on the hunt for success in the Irish Open in order to keep his Ryder Cup hopes alive, following a joint 27th place finish for the Welshman in The Open at St Andrews.
