Hamilton remains positive on Silverstone chances

27/06/2011

Silverstone hospitality guests attending the British Grand Prix in July may be interested to hear Lewis Hamilton's thoughts on his team's chances in the race.

The McLaren driver appeared to dismiss the possibility of being able to beat Sebastian Vettel in the event, after the German driver led from start to finish in yesterday's (June 26th) European Grand Prix in Valencia.

However, he has since retracted a statement he gave after the race suggesting his title challenge was over, using his Twitter feed today to say: "My team will never give up and I will never give up."

He added that the home support he and teammate Jenson Button will receive at Silverstone in two weeks' time will make "a world of difference".

The race in Valencia was a difficult one for both McLaren drivers, who appeared to struggle to be able to make their tyres last on a blisteringly hot track in Spain, though Hamilton stated he would be at the team's factory helping ensure they turn up to the British Grand Prix with an improved package.
