Hampshire all-rounder Sean Ervine will play for Zimbabwean side Matabeleland Tuskers this winter, it has been revealed.

Ervine is returning to his homeland to feature for the provincial side in the domestic four-day Castle Logan Cup and Coca-Cola Pro50 Championship, with a chance that he could be in action as early as today (December 12th).

Those who enjoy hospitality packages while watching Hampshire at the Rose Bowl will hope Ervine can enhance his game this winter, when he will follow his stint back in Africa with a trip to Barbados with the rest of the Hampshire squad for pre-season training.

The 2011 season saw the all-rounder score his 4,000th first class run and take his 250th wicket.

Ervine has also represented his country on occasions, including five times in Tests, with his debut coming against England at Lords in 2003.

Among Ervine's feats was a career best score of 237 not out against Somerset last year.
