Henley Festival 'has gone larger to beat recession'

21/06/2010

Henley Festival tickets are likely to be in demand, despite the current economic downturn, with organisers promising that this year's event will be bigger and better than ever.

Speaking to the Bucks Free Press, the festival's creative director Stewart Collins said the way to react to the financial climate is to invest even more money and appeal to wider audiences.

"So in fact the line up this year is the highest profile we have ever had," he told the publication.

Mr Collins noted that people with Henley Festival tickets will be treated to everything from pop concerts to jazz performances.

"I liken it to a Greek or Spanish meal. There are lots of flavours. We have the classical, the comedy, the visual art," he commented.

Some of the performers due to take to the stage between July 7th and 11th 2010 include Will Young, Ronan Keating, Nigel Kennedy and singer Bryn Terfel.
