Henley Festival tickets news: Thames event promoted with series of concerts

09/06/2010

Owners of Henley Festival tickets have been informed of a series of Sunday concerts being held in partnership with the River and Rowing Museum.

The Henley Standard reports that the museum will be dedicating its Thames Room to the concerts, which are taking place in the run up to the festival that gets underway on July 7th and runs until July 11th 2010.

First to perform will be The Silverton Duo, comprising of saxophonist Huw Wiggin and Tim Abel.

Mr Wiggin, who at just 23 has already made his debut at the South Bank Centre, told the newspaper: "People don't always realise how versatile the saxophone can be."

After that, on July 4th, the museum will host the Stringsaloud Quartet.

The Thames Room is glass fronted and ticketholders can also purchase a three course Sunday lunch for £15.

A two-course meal is £12.

The River and Rowing Museum in Henley boasts a number of attractions, including the Ratty's Refuge garden.

Ratty's Refuge was opened by Alan Titchmarsh and has scooped a Chelsea medal.
