Ian Bell 'ready for England ODI call'

07/07/2010

Ian Bell has said he is ready and waiting for a recall to the England side for matches watched by fans with ODI tickets

The Warwickshire batsman has been named in the squad for the forthcoming three-game limited overs series against Bangladesh as a replacement for Kevin Pietersen.

Ahead of the matches, which kick off at Trent Bridge tomorrow (July 8th 2010), Bell captained the England Lions side as they took on India A in a 50-over clash.

He smashed 158 from just 143 balls in the encounter - his highest ever List A score - after coming in at number three following the early dismissal of Jonathan Trott and helped his side post a total of 343.

Bell revealed the knock is a timely confidence boost ahead of his potential selection to play for England's first XI in front of fans with ODI tickets

"It's been nice to have some time in the middle ready to go for Thursday," he commented. "I will be prepared and ready to go if I am lucky enough to play."
