Brit Oval hospitality news: Tremlett 'could be on the way to Surrey'
27/01/2010
Chris Tremlett could be set to appear for Surrey in front of cricket fans with Brit Oval hospitality packages for the Twenty20 Cup.
The Hampshire pace bowler has been given permission to speak to the Brown Caps over a possible move after his current side increased their already stiff competition for places by bringing in Kabir Ali from Worcestershire.
Tremlett has played three Test matches for England, taking 13 wickets at an average of less than 30.
Despite having also featured in nine One Day Internationals and a Twenty20 match, he has dropped out of the England reckoning in recent times after suffering a series of injuries.
Hampshire chairman Rob Bransgrove confirmed that a number of counties are interested in signing Tremlett, adding that a move could be a positive step for the bowler.
He said: "His career is at a crossroads and a move might reinvigorate him.
"We have given him permission to speak to other counties and he has had a chat with one or two."
