Corporate entertainment news: Denman 'may run in Argento Chase'

Horse racing enthusiasts with corporate entertainment tickets for the Cheltenham Festival could see Denman in action at the event's precursor.

The horse's trainer Paul Nicholls said that he is keen to see Denman in action on Festival Trails Day at Cheltenham, which takes place on January 30th 2010.

It means that Denman could be entered into the Argento Chase, rather than competing in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown the following week or the Aon Chase at Newbury on February 13th.

Nicholls expressed his desire to feature Denman in the Argento Chase, although he told the Mail that he will need to discuss the matter with the horse's owner Paul Barber before any decision is made.

"I am dead keen to run if Paul wants to go because he is ready to run," he said.

Earlier this month, jockey Tony McCoy said he would welcome the chance to ride Denman at the Cheltenham Festival, adding that whoever has the chance to partner with the horse "will be very lucky".
