Corporate hospitality news: McCain plans two runners in mares' hurdle
12/01/2010
Cheltenham Festival corporate hospitality ticketholders are in for an especially competitive David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle this year.
Donald McCain claimed he has two horses capable of winning the event in Whiteoak and Alegralil - and he has no qualms in running the two alongside each other.
Commenting on Whiteoak's chances in front of Cheltenham Festival corporate hospitality seats, the trainer said: "When she has only taken on just mares she has shown how good she is."
He added that the event is the "obvious target" for the horse, saying: "At this time it's all systems go to the Mares' Hurdle."
Furthermore, McCain described Alegralil as a "very talented mare", although he conceded that she may not be as streetwise and hardened as her stablemate.
Horseracing enthusiasts who had Cheltenham Festival corporate hospitality tickets in 2009 may have seen the favourite Quevaga secure victory in the 2009 Mares' Hurdle event, ahead of United and Aura About You.
