Rugby hospitality news: Dwayne Peel to miss England v Wales match

19/01/2010

Rugby hospitality ticketholders for the 6 Nations England v Wales clash will not see Dwayne Peel in action.

The scrum half, who plays his club rugby for Sale Sharks, injured his groin towards the end of his team's defeat at the hands of the Cardiff Blues last weekend.

As a consequence, Wales head coach Warren Gatland has removed Peel from his 35-man squad.

However, Sale boss Kingsley Jones has revealed the scan on the half-back's injury is not as bad as was previously feared. If that turns out to be the case, then Gatland has suggested Peel could be reinstated.

Meanwhile, teammate Eifion Lewis Roberts has made the cut for the opening match of the 6 Nations, which will go ahead on February 6th 2010 at Twickenham.

"We're very happy for Eifion and I feel his inclusion is definitely merited," Sale director of rugby Jones told the Manchester Evening News.

Another big name who will miss the England v Wales match includes prop Phil Vickery, who will sit out the whole tournament with a neck injury.ADNFCR-2911-ID-19565077-ADNFCR
