South Africa World Cup news: Frank Lampard backs Joe Cole for England selection

Frank Lampard has backed Joe Cole to feature in Fabio Capello's South Africa World Cup squad.
The England midfielder praised his Chelsea teammate for the manner in which he has applied himself to battle back from long-term injury to regain his place in Carlo Ancelotti's first team.
And Lampard went on to say that Cole has the ability to give the England squad the added spark which could make the difference in tight matches at the South Africa World Cup.
"Joe's that one player who injects that bit of brilliance where he can beat a man out of nowhere," he remarked. "I hope Joe gets called up by England - he deserves it for the hard work he's put in."
Despite missing the majority of last season with a cruciate ligament injury, Cole has still featured for his national side 53 times since making his debut against Mexico in 2001, scoring ten goals in the process.
