Tennis hospitality news: Andy Murray reaches Australian Open quarter-finals
22/01/2010
Tennis enthusiasts with Wimbledon hospitality tickets will be hoping Andy Murray can replicate his current fine form at the SW19 tournament.
The world number four has charged through the early rounds of the Australian Open, brushing aside Frenchman Florent Serra in straight sets to power into the final 16.
Murray was forced to scrap in the opening set of the match, with his opponent playing better than his rank of number 64 in the world may have suggested.
But after overcoming Serra 7-5, the Scot sped onwards toward the quarter-final, only losing five games in the final two sets. It is the third consecutive straight-sets win which Murray has recorded at the tournament.
He now faces a clash with powerful American John Isner, who Murray admitted could present more of a challenge.
"He gives guys a lot of problems. He's 6ft 9in with a huge serve," he said.
Murray has now surpassed his achievements at last year's Open, where he crashed out in the fourth round.
