Tennis hospitality news: Dinara Safina admits pressure over grand slam failures
14/01/2010
Tennis fans with centre court tickets for Wimbledon this summer could witness an under-pressure Dinara Safina take to the grass.
In the build-up to next week's Australian Open, the 23-year-old Russian revealed that her failure to win a grand slam in the last 18 months - despite having three opportunities to do so - is weighing heavily on her mind.
Tennis enthusiasts with centre court tickets for the 2009 tournament witnessed Safina crash out to Venus Williams in a 6-1, 6-0 defeat. She also finished runner-up in last year's Australian Open and at Roland Garros.
Safina admitted to the Press Association that she is desperate to overcome her past failures by winning a grand slam.
"Those three mistakes that I made in all the previous finals, I just have to put everything together and not make them," she said.
She added that she will look to be herself and play her own game at the Australian Open.
