Twenty20 tickets news: Essex 'in limbo' over Kaneria availability
28/01/2010
Essex have said they are still in the dark over whether Danish Kaneria will be free to play in front of fans with Twenty20 tickets for their clash against Surrey Brown Caps at the Brit Oval.
The leg-spinner looks likely to miss the latter half of the domestic 2010 season because of a lengthy list of commitments with his national side, but the Eagles are awaiting confirmation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
However, early indications suggest that Kaneria will be unavailable for his club side from mid-June - which means fans with Twenty20 tickets may be able to watch him in action in the Surrey match on June 10th.
David East, the club's chief executive, expressed his frustration at the length of time the PCB has taken over Kaneria.
"It can be a real challenge and the problem is that without the confirmation you can't do a lot," he told the Essex Chronicle. "We are in limbo."
